ABC exercise se kaise running speed badaye.  The ABC & Technique drills are used by all Long Distance Runners to improve the posture and form of running.  These drills offer multiple benefits for Long Distance Runners and are very easy to do and useful for Beginners as well as Advanced athletes.  The ABC and Technique drills improve stride length by improving neuro-muscular co-ordination and also improve stride frequency and stride rate by teaching us to land softly and quickly on the balls of our feet which reduces ground contact time.  Improvement in stride length and stride frequency leads to speed.  The ABC drills also serve the purpose of warm up exercises before workout.  The best use of ABC drills is before workout or a race, or before doing speed workout while warming up.  The correct sequence of warming up is to do dynamic stretching exercises first, followed by slow running and jogging for 10-15 minutes and then doing the ABC drills.  The ABC drills can be combined with Strides before doing speed workouts. You can do the ABC drills in between each stride. Some runners also do the ABC drills after workout on easy running/workout days like slow running/jogging for 30-40 minutes.  The ABC drills are not to be done after hard workout since the neuro muscular system is not primed up to learn new skills when it is tired.  The ABC drills are to be done atleast 2-3 days in a week for best results. You can also do them everyday. 2-3 sets of each drill is to be done while warming up. You can jog or walk back to the starting position in between each set. The total workout of ABC drills while warming up takes only 5-10 minutes but doing these drills is extremely beneficial since it improves our running posture and also warms up our body for faster running before race or speed workout.    The drills are to be done on mud, grass or track and on an even and flat surface. Avoid doing the drills on hard surfaces like concrete.  One important point while doing the ABC drills is to land softly on the toes and balls of your feet. The upper body should be erect and relaxed.  You can do the arms motion like in running to keep the upper body engaged as well and for improving co-ordination.  Another important thing to be kept in mind is to not get too much obsessed with improving running form. Don\'t overdo the ABC exercises. 5-10 minutes of ABC and technique drills everyday is sufficient.
